TCM: Fancy Flourishes

Hi there!

Today, the designers from The Crafts' Meow are joining together to show off the new free with $50 purchase stamp set called Fancy Flourishes illustrated by NinaB Designs.

To see all the other designers' projects with today's stamp set, please check out TCM's store blog.  Leave a comment while you're there for a chance to win it for yourself!

For my first card, I stamped the flourish image in versafine on this yellow patterned paper and embossed with white embossing powder.  Then, I rubbed some brown chalk ink over it to help it stand out a bit, shading the entire card front panel with the same chalk ink to 'shabby' it up a bit.  Some vellum embossed honeycomb trimmed to make a border for the top of the card along with buttercream baker's twine and pearls from Want2Scrap finished it off.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment on a vellum flag die cut too.  It's such a soft and pretty card - but seems to be a bit washed out on my computer screen... sorry I couldn't capture it a bit better for you.

My next card didn't quite come out the way I was hoping it would, but I thought I'd share it with you anyways.  I'm not super happy about the trimmed 'Happy Anniversary' sentiment - but I'm not sure how else to include that on the card like I wanted too... hmmm.

Anyway, I stamped the flourish on a die cut in a soft yellow ink and then embellished it a bit with a strip of grey patterned paper and two vines from the stamp set which I finished off with a Wild Orchid soft yellow rose.  I was thinking of my parent's wedding anniversary coming up soon when I made this card.  My mom loves yellow roses, thus the yellow and grey color scheme.

The anniversary sentiments are from TCM's Side By Side and were stamped in black Stazon ink on vellum.

Have a wonderful day!

TCM: Sweet Memories

Hi there!

Welcome to the third day of The Craft's Meow June previews!  Today, we are showing the new Sweet Memories stamp set illustrated by NinaB Designs.  This fun stamp set was designed for you Project Life ladies out there but is versatile enough to work great for cards too!

To see everyone else's projects with today's stamp set, please visit TCM's store blog for all the links and photos.  Leave a comment while you're there for a chance to win today's stamp set for yourself!

For my first card, I stamped one of the frames on some grey patterned paper in black versafine ink and added the 'blessings and joys' sentiment and a flourish from the Fancy Flourishes stamp set to embellish it a bit.  I added a soft green rose to the center for a bit of embellishment.  I thought this would be a fun baby card - or even a thank you/ congratulations card.

Have a great day!

SNSS By the Numbers stamp set and dies

Good morning!

Today is the second day of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps June release feature hops!  Over the new four days, we'll be sharing projects that we've made with the new stamps that are available now for purchase!

Here's the stamp set and coordinating dies we are featuring today:

On my first card, I laid the Numbers dies as they come on this fun yellow patterned paper and cut the entire panel out. Then, I layered it over an embossed white card front with pop dots.  Love how this looks!  I added a vellum ticket die cut which I stamped with the coordinating stamp set Ticket Sentiments in black stazon in.

My next card uses a couple of the numbers from the first card to make this birthday card for my daughter - who will be 13 this fall!  How is that possible?  I used sentiments from Sweet Kiwi to finish off the card - love that whimsical font!  Some solid yellow marigold baker's twine wrapped around the card and embellished with a rose finished off this card.

My last card pairs the dies with the stamps. This is such a fun set to play with - love the dies but also love the  patterns Korin choose for each number.  I used the fun Birthday Bash dies and stamp set for a birthday card to save for a little student of mine who has a summer birthday.  He's pretty special to me and I am looking forward to his Kindergarten year with me this fall!

I used some buttercream baker's twine for the balloon tail.  Before adding the doily, I rubbed some chalk ink over it to help it match the papers a bit more.  Love all the colors in that patterned paper (from My Mind's Eye) because it made picking colors so easy!  I shaded around the edges of everything with a dark brown chalk ink - love that look too.

This wonderful set with matching dies is perfect for scrapbooking and card making.  You'll find endless uses for these large numbers.

TCM Kindred Spirits

Hi there!

Welcome to the second day of The Craft's Meow June previews leading up the new release on Friday, June 21st.  Today, we are showcasing the new Kindred Spirits stamp set illustrated by Karen Baker.

To see all the other designers' cards they've made with this new stamp set check out TCM's store blog.  While you're there be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win today's featured stamp set for yourself!

My first card uses both the outline image along with the layering images to make the flowers and leaves.  I loved how easy it was to line up all the coordinating images - seriously, every time I did it - it was perfect!  I cut the flowers and leaves out by hand and then layered them together around the sentiment strip.  Karen included some lovely sentiments in this stamp set too!

My next card uses many of the same elements - just a little selective stamping on the flowers and leaves.  Once again, I used a vellum overlay to soften the patterned papers a bit.  I stamped the sentiment on the die cut and then embossed it with a woodgrain texture plate and shaded it a bit with some soft pink/purple ink to match.  Some orchid baker's twine wrapped around the card front twice finished it off.

Have a great day!

TCM: Beautiful Rose

Hi there!

I'm a little late this morning but I wanted to pop in and share a few cards I made with the first stamp set that the designers from The Craft's Meow are featuring today on our blogs to celebrate June's release.  Today, we are showing off Beautiful Rose, a lovely stamp set illustrated by NinaB Designs.

To see all the other designers' projects, please visit TCM's store blog for all the photos and links.  I've seen them all and they are fabulous!

My first card is very CAS - I chose to use the sweet circle rose image in the stamp set.  First I stamped it in SU guava ink and then again in black Versafine ink and trimmed out the banner and layered over it.  Lots of vellum on this one - love the soft look it gives.

My next card was one I made for a dear friend of mine who suddenly lost her husband late last week.  So sad for her and her boys to loose their father/husband Father's Day weekend.  My friend has a very bright and cheery personality, so I channeled her bubbly spirit with the bright colors on my card, hoping to cheer her a little and let her know how much I am thinking and praying for her and her sons.

I stamped the rose image twice on vellum in black stazon ink and then embossed it with a texture embossing folder from Stampin Up.  Then, I paper pieced the roses with a couple of bright patterned papers and layered over the stamped images on the vellum.  The 'dear friend' sentiment is found in this stamp set and the sympathy one is from Hope Blooms.

I attached the vellum to the yellow mat with the white brads and then added some soft buttercream baker's twine and some pearls from Want2Scrap for added embellishments.

Have a great day and see you tomorrow with a couple more cards for The Craft's Meow and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!
